Jennifer Muir
Jennifer Muir, the founder of Spiraling Heart, serves as a sound healer, death doula, and contemplative caregiver. She infuses the wisdom gained from her personal journey into all aspects of her work. With years of experience assisting individuals grappling with mental health and addiction challenges, Jennifer possesses profound training and expertise in supporting people during crises and pivotal life moments. It was in these intense environments that she discovered the healing power of authentic heart presence, leading her to seek ways to extend this understanding beyond traditional settings.
Her educational path includes social work, sound healing training under Elaine Mackle of Tibetan Tones, a nine-month contemplative care program at the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care and training as an end-of-life doula through INELDA. She has completed internships at Vassar Hospital's ER and Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County. Jennifer began her sound healing journey in 2018, learning to use Himalayan bowls on the body, and has since expanded her offerings to include sound baths for groups. Since 2020, she has held the position of senior sound therapist at Menla Mountain Retreat Center.
Currently, she provides her expertise as a sound healer, death doula, and educator on the topics of death and dying. She also facilitates ceremonial and ritual spaces for individuals, couples, and groups undergoing transitions. Jennifer is a founding member of Sky Holds Stars, a holistic resource dedicated to all aspects of death care, both online and in-person.
Grateful for the opportunity to be a conduit for pure heart essence, Jennifer finds that her work with others enriches her own journey of awakening. It is within this realm of heart-centered connection and mutual support that she feels most vibrant and alive. Residing in the beautiful Hudson Valley, NY, she embraces her roles as a mother, professional, lover, and community member.
